How proud I am to be African American.

The decendant of a people who endured much.

Slavery, segregation, injustice and such.

No matter how many times they fell they rose again.

Each day was like a chapter that had to begin.

Many tried and many failed to stop them.

God’s grace and perseverance have always been the hem.

Many gains have been made due to many sacrifices.

The ancestors didn’t care about the prices.

How proud I am to be African American.

The torch has been passed and the work must continue.

No matter the time, place, or venue.

How proud I am to be African American.

A special group of people African Americans are.

With continued faith, perseverance, determination and drive, we will go far.
