For my Black men, so brave, powerful, strong and confident.

You are the salt of the earth and the pillar of the community.

You are leaders, fathers, grandfathers, sons, uncles and cousins.

You shape the direction  of the Black family and community.

You teach lessons to be carried from generation to generation until the end of time.

You are far more than the media has depicted you to be.

You are not animals, but warriors.

Warriors for justice.

Despite all the forces against you, you continue to rise like a comet.

Many underestimate your strength and courage.

Many underestimate how long and hard you’ll fight and for which you’ll fight.

Many doubt your intelligence.

America wouldn’t be the same without you.

As I reflect on recent horrific events, I salute you.

You continue to forge ahead in the face of adversity.

Continue to let your light shine.

Your stars won’t fade.
