I’ve been to hell and back

I always compensate for what I lack

I’ve been through the fire, right down to the wire

Living day to day

I’ve endured a great deal of pain

Dealt  with a lot of stress and strain

When others thought I wouldn’t last a second longer

I grew stronger

When others thought I wouldn’t thrive

I continued to strive

When others thought I didn’t have the will to live

God showed me how much I can give

When others thought my world would end

Prayer taught me on whom I can depend
