Yesterday, I stopped singing the blues

Threw away old habits I can’t use

Yesterday, I realized what matters most of all

Did what I needed to do so my momentum wouldn’t stall

Yesterday, when I thought I wouldn’t last a day

God showed me the way

Yesterday, my heart was full of gloom and doom

Now, my spirit has started to bloom

Yesterday, I let some people, places and things go

They won’t help me grow

Yesterday, I decided to remain in prayer

For I know God is always there
