Every day I awaken to the rising sun

I thank God for the blessings

Each and every one

I carry life’s lessons with me

Because they allow me to be

I stay in prayer

Because God is there

I face more than one would believe

Yet, I’m still able to achieve

I remain strong

As I move along

I continue to grow

And share what I know

And placed my feet on solid ground

I proceed without fear

I keep faith near
