Next Time

I let true love slip away

I feel the pain every day

I was blind and didn’t see

What God had given to me

The moments I’ll never forget

They feel my heart with regret

Next time I’ll cherish love when I find it

Do what’s necessary to bind it

I took so much for granted

I didn’t water the seeds planted

I didn’t know how to handle love

I didn’t know it was sweeter than a dove

I learned my lesson too late

I’ve changed positions to the letter

It will make me better

Next  time I’ll cherish love when I find it

Do what’s necessary to bind it

I’ll never get that love back again

Yet, God will show me how to win

I’ve looked at me

And now I’m what I”m supposed to be

I’ll carry that lesson everywhere I go

It’ll help me grow

Next time I’ll cherish love when I find it

Do what’s necessary to bind it

True love comes once in a lifetime

It should be nourished in its prime

Next time I’ll cherish love when I find it

Do what’s necessary to bind it

Next time

Summer Rain

We heared the rain as it began to fall

It was the best sound of all

We were free

Free to just be

Our joy we couldn’t hide

We celebrated with pride

What we had to gain

As we played in the summer rain

We played like never before

Because we knew life offered us much more

We found our purpose

And everything came to the surface

That moment was pure

We felt God’s love for sure

As we saw what we had to gain

While playing in the summer rain

We embraced life completely

And loved one another deeply

Our mission became clear

And we held  it dear

We held each moment close

And  counted on God most

As we saw what we had to gain

While playing in the summer rain
