When I woke up this morning

I counted my blessings

While I was dressing

I looked at what God created

I held His hand

As I embraced His plan

When I woke up this morning

I knew God’s love was true

As I reflected on all He brought me through

I knew He’d keep me strong

As I move along

I forged ahead

While praying instead

When I woke up this morning

God turned me around

Put me on solid ground

I left behind my past pain

And saw what I had to gain

I knew I would go far

By reaching for a star

When I woke up this morning

I saw my purpose

As it came to the surface

I arrived at a better place

God filled every empty space

He gives me what I need

To help me succeed

I gave thanks in every way

I must say
