Yesterday I let go of the past

I focused on things that will last

I basked in my strength

And had a talk with God at length

I moved in the right direction

With God’s guidance and protection

Yesterday I learned how to be me

I found out who loves me unconditionally

I took a stand

As I held His hand

I knew then

That He’d help me win

Yesterday I looked in the mirror

It all became clearer

I’m blessed to be sure

Gratitude keeps my heart pure

I take nothing for granted

The seeds have been planted

Yesterday I took stock of my life

I got rid of the strife

I’m well on my way

To a brighter day

With it comes lessons

As well as confessions

Yesterday I felt my own power

Hour upon hour

I’ll never be the same

Everyone knows my name

I wouldn’t have it any other way
