I’ve been through the fire

Down to the wire

Others thought I wouldn’t last long

But faith kept me strong

Despite what I’ve been through

I’ve remained true

I took a stand

While holding God’s hand

I’ve faced everything you can imagine for sure

Prayer keeps my heart pure

It lies at the very core of me

That’s the way it should be

I’ll make a confession

I’ve learned a valuable lesson

God turned me around

Put my feet on solid ground

I carry my life lessons with me every day

I wouldn’t have it any other way

They’ve made me who I am

That isn’t a sham

God has been my guide

That I won’t hide
