Dear Mama

Dear Mama,

You’ve been gone a few years

I’ve finally dried the tears

Your life lessons linger still

I know that’s God’s will

I feel you watching me

That’s God’s will you see

The memories I hold dear

Although I miss having you near

Dear Mama,

The love you gave has kept me strong

You’re in my heart as I move along

That’s the seed you planted

I don’t take it for granted

The wonder of you

Carries me through

I think of you each day

I wouldn’t have it any other way

Dear Mama,

You’ve filled me to the core

I wish I could give you more

The sound of your voice

Always makes me rejoice

It’s better than anything I’ve known

You should see how I’ve grown

I hope I’ve made you proud

I’ll say it out loud

One thing I’d tell

Cause it would serve me well

I’ll never forget you

Dear Mama
