Slowly I awaken to the rising sun

I see all that nature has done

As I bow my head in prayer

I sense that God is there

He gives me everything I need

That’s a blessing indeed

Everyone can see

He brings out the best in me

Slowly I venture out

I see what life is about

I learn many lessons along the way

I express gratitude every day

God is my guide

A fact I won’t hide

Yes, it’s true

I see what God brought me through

Slowly I see His plan

I feel it in the palm of His hand

His love is pure

He makes me feel secure

I take nothing for granted

The seeds have been planted

I’ve come to know my own power

I feel it hour upon hour

Slowly I draw the conclusion

That God isn’t an illusion

He turned me around

Put me on solid ground

Let me be clear

I love having Him near

He strengthens me when I’m weak

I listen when I hear Him speak

Nothing can compare

To what we share

I’m far from wholly

But I continue to grow slowly
