In the morning

I kneel in prayer

As I thank God for being there

I gain strength

By talking with Him at length

He uplifts and encourages me

I see how things should be

Right or wrong

My foundation is strong

I prepare for another journey

One ordained by God only

I embrace it fully

Cause God loves me unconditionally

While still in my prime

I see life in its splendor

My joy I’ll never surrender

It’s mine to keep

I listen when I hear God speak

His voice has power

I feel it hour upon hour

Despite my past

I make those moments last

It’s all I can do

After all God’s brought me through
