We’ve been through the fire

Down to the wire

We’ve been the object of scorn

We’ve had our hearts torn

We thought we were left for dead

Until we began to pray instead

We stumbled along the way

But God appeared one day

Naysayers have no clue

What we’ve been through

Life hasn’t been fair

So a testimony we’ll share

Despite heartache and pain

We see what we’ll gain

This is our journey

It was ordained by God only

We’ve shed a lot of tears

And had a lot of fears

But faith took hold

So we broke the mold

Overcoming obstacles is key

We live that mantra faithfully

Right or wrong

We’re standing strong
