I lost my way

I was in despair every day

Life brought me down

Turned my smile to a frown

I had all I could take

Didn’t know what moves to make

It didn’t take long

To see something was wrong

Then God turned me around

Put me on solid ground

And now I see

I’m free

I wallowed in shame

Didn’t know my name

I didn’t pretend

Cause I thought I’d reached the end

I began to cry

Without understanding why

I was in pain

Couldn’t see what I could gain

It’s old news

That I suffered from the blues

But God saved me

And now I”m free

I’ve fallen on several occasions

I’ve suffered many abrasions

Winter, spring, summer, fall

I’ve been through it all

My life has been a test

Just like all the rest

There’s no cure

Only prayer makes me feel secure

God is real

I worship Him with zeal

He saved me

And now I’m free
