When I wake up in the morning

I feel sunlight on my face

I prepare for another race

I talk with God at length

Because it gives me strength

My heart isn’t full of dread

Because I pray instead

God sends me on my way

And I know it’s going to be a lovely day

I face challenges of every kind

Faith gives me peace of mind

One thing is clear

God is always near

That’s the way it’ll always be

He brings out the best in me

I stand proudly
