Daylight comes as I awaken

It’s a new day if I’m not mistaken

I say a silent prayer

Thanking God for being there

He’s one of a kind

He gives me peace of mind

I start my day

No matter what comes my way

I travel to the other side

The lessons learned I can’t hide

Despite some pain

I see what I can gain

God guides me during my journey

It was ordained my Him only

I Know I have a purpose

I saw it come to the surface

I know where I stand

With one touch of God’s hand

Daylight allows me to grow

As I share what I know

I count my blessings one by one

Until daylight is done
