Memories run through my mind

Thoughts of you is what I find

I think of what we shared

And all the dreams we dared

And I know

I shouldn’t have let you go

We embarked on a journey

Ordained by God only

We held hands

As we made plans

We thought we knew the way

And we prayed every day

But at some point we got lost

Not knowing at what cost

We did all we could

Just as God knew we would

We shed some tears

For all our years

Cause we couldn’t pretend

We knew it had to end

Despite our cries

We said our goodbyes

Knowing it had to be

It wasn’t a mystery

And now without any conspiracy theories

All we have let are memories
