Sunny days remind me of you

And all the things we used to do

We held hands

As we made plans

We didn’t have a care

While in our prime

Sunny days make me think of the past

We embarked on a journey

Ordained by God only

We held each other close

The feeling seemed real

We embraced it with zeal

Til we reached the end of the road

And our story was told

Sunny days make me see

What had to be

We did what we  could

As God knew we would

It didn’t seem strange

We didn’t think things would change

Suddenly we couldn’t pretend

We knew it had to end

We aren’t together

But the memories will last forever

And for the rest of my days
