I’m keeping a light

One that burns day and night

It shows what’s real

As well as things difficult to conceal

It creates a path

Without suffering God’s wrath

It travels far

Without leaving a scar

I’m keeping a light

With all my might

It has no fear

It shows God is near

It provides a foundation

Without hesitation

It provides a reason

For every season

It shows what’s true

And all God can do

I’m keeping a light

What a wonderful sight

It fills to the core

Then offers a little more

It remembers the past

While making every moment last

It comforts as we go

And it shows us how to grow

It doesn’t lie

Nor does it deny

What’s inside

One thing makes a day bright

And therefore I’m keeping a light
