I was lost and alone

With nothing to call my own

I’ve been through the fire

Down to the wire

I’ve been shamed

I’ve been defamed

I’ve been down

Always wore a frown

But then God came along

Now I sing a different song

I’ve been weak

Didn’t know how to speak

I’ve wallowed in fear

Didn’t know what was near

I’ve been abused

I’ve been misused

I’ve had to cry

Without understanding why

But God rescued me

That’s a great place to be

The love is pure

I feel safe and secure

I’m no longer lonely
