We’ve been through the fire

Down to the wire

We’ve been shamed and defamed

Didn’t know our name

We’ve gotten lost along the way

But we prayed every day

We’ve struggled with fear

Didn’t know God was near

We’ve fallen time and time again

But finally learned how to win

We’ve faced what was true

Then changed our point of view

We’ve let our faith go

Before learning how to grow

We’ve traveled very far

While healing every scar

Our frown has turned to a smile

That will last awhile

We face naysayers

But continue to say our prayers

We’ve let go of regret

Life is as good as it can get

We’ve found our purpose

Lying at the surface

And it’s a beautiful sight
