I stand here alone

Listening to my soul moan

God hears my cries

Cause I don’t tell lies

I long to see

What’s meant to be

I take time

To remember my prime

And my soul continues to moan

While I’m alone

I indulge in a fight

For what I know is right

I hold my thoughts close

Cause peace matters most

I search for solid ground

No matter who’s around

Nothing stays the same

The world knows my name

Every step I take

Is a memory I’ll make

I ask for guidance from God

I give Him a wink and nod

He takes me to a place

Filled with His grace

And I learn to stand on my own
