Last night I said a prayer

Thanking God for being there

He held me close

Like I mattered most

The moment was real

Too difficult to conceal

It gave me strength

Cause we talked at length

I counted every blessing

Without any stressing

Nothing ever felt so pure

Or made me feel secure

I prepared for another day

In my own special way

And I found a place

Filled with guidance and grace

Last night I thought of the journey

Meant for me only

God filled my soul

He made me whole

I got a fresh start

As I looked into my heart

I began to rejoice

When I heard God’s voice

He made very clear

What He holds dear

I listened to His word

It was the best I’d heard

It lifted me up

It filled my cup

I knew I could go far

By reaching for a star

God made me see

What’s truly meant to be

I thought of positive things

And the joy life brings

God gave me direction

And plenty of protection

While I struggled with doubt

He worked things out

He taught me how to live

He taught me how to give

And I followed His light
