As we walked up the stairs

We learned God cares

The journey gave us strength

As we talked with Him at length

We learned a lot along the way

Things we cherish every day

We found a sacred place

Filled with guidance and grace

We relished it to the core

As God offered us more

We held hands

Right where love stands

And we began to grow

By sharing what we know

We walked up the stairs

It was God’s plan

He reveals one when He can

In Him we learned to trust

We found something just for us

We had a chance

To do a victory dance

We felt something pure

We felt safe and secure

We found our purpose

Lying at the surface

Our voices we began to raise

As we gave God some praise

We planted the seeds

That lead to good deeds

We found something real

Something we couldn’t conceal

We took one step at a time

Cause we were in our prime

We knew we were free

To be the best we could be
