I wake up

Heart all aglow

Praising God is all I know

I see a new day

I accept God’s way

It’s the blessing granted

I water the seeds I planted

He sends me on a journey

Meant for me only

I learn all I can

It’s part of God’s plan

I carry the lessons with me

That’s all the world can see

God gives me something pure

Things that make me feel secure

I wake up

Full of desire

So I go through the fire

I find my purpose

Lying at the surface

I hear God’s voice

I begin to rejoice

I give as good as I get

I let go of regret

I ignore naysayers

As I say my prayers

God gives me strength

As we talk at length

I strike a few poses

As I stop to smell the roses

I get a chance

To do a victory dance

The move makes me smile

The smile last a while

God gives me tender loving care

He’s always there

I maintain a similar pace

As I run my race

Every step I take

Is a memory I’ll make

And God fills my cup
