We pray every day
Without knowing God’s way
We embrace fear
Not knowing what’s near
We stumble here and there
Wondering if God is there
We wonder who to please
As we fall to our knees
We don’t see a choice
As we try to find our voice
We get weighed down
Then begin to wear a frown
It’s something we do
As we try to make it through
Then before our prime
We see God is right on time
We look for what’s set in stone
While we’re all alone
We confront our naysayers
As we say our prayers
Our days are long
We wonder how we’ll remain strong
We have a lot to take
With every step we make
We look for a place
Filled with mercy and grace
We go through the fire
Right down to the wire
We look for our name
We hang our heads in shame
We search for solid ground
We wonder what we’ve found
Our journey cuts to the core
As we prepare for more
We wonder what we’ll gain
Through heartache and pain
Then before we enter our prime
We see God is right on time
