Woke up with a spring in my step

God sent me on my way

I saw a brand new day

I stood on solid ground

As I shared the joy I found

God made me see

What was meant for me

I stopped to smell the roses

Then struck a few poses

I let go of fear

As God held me near

Every moment was golden

To God I’m beholden

I was filled to the core

Before God offered me more

I received a precious gift

That gave me a lift

It was God’s plan

He reveals one when He can

I woke up with a spring in my step

I saw what was true

And all God brought me through

I was granted a blessing

I finally stopped stressing

I saw something real

Something my heart couldn’t conceal

I fulfilled the purpose

I saw lying at the surface

I became totally aware

Of God’s tender loving care

It’s the light

I follow day and night

I found a peace

I’ll never release

I spent some time

Remembering my prime

I shared all the lessons

That became confessions

And I ran my race

At my own pace

With a spring in my step
