After dark

I sit and pray

For yet another day

God shows a sign

That everything is fine

He fills my cup

He lifts me up

He takes me to a place

Filled with mercy and grace

He gives me strength

As we talk at length

Faith lets Him see

The very best of me

Blessings begin to unfold

My story is finally told

God reveals a plan

As soon as He can

And He fills me to the core

Then offers me more

After dark

I suddenly find

Peace of mind

It lets me dream

Strange though that may seem

I learn to run my race

At my own pace

I feel God’s power

Hour after hour

It offers something pure

It makes me feel secure

I remember my prime

One moment at a time

I see the love

Coming from heaven above

I let go of doubt

As God works things out

I think of sunrise

Which isn’t a surprise

I think of the purpose

Lying at the surface

And it becomes clear

God almighty is near

And I prepare for a journey

Meant for me only
