After Dark

After dark

I sit and pray

For yet another day

God shows a sign

That everything is fine

He fills my cup

He lifts me up

He takes me to a place

Filled with mercy and grace

He gives me strength

As we talk at length

Faith lets Him see

The very best of me

Blessings begin to unfold

My story is finally told

God reveals a plan

As soon as He can

And He fills me to the core

Then offers me more

After dark

I suddenly find

Peace of mind

It lets me dream

Strange though that may seem

I learn to run my race

At my own pace

I feel God’s power

Hour after hour

It offers something pure

It makes me feel secure

I remember my prime

One moment at a time

I see the love

Coming from heaven above

I let go of doubt

As God works things out

I think of sunrise

Which isn’t a surprise

I think of the purpose

Lying at the surface

And it becomes clear

God almighty is near

And I prepare for a journey

Meant for me only

After dark

Silence

As we sit in silence

We hear the voice of God

We offer a wink and nod

We hear a word

That’s the best we’ve heard

We find ourselves in a place

Filled with mercy and grace

We relish the sound

That turns lives around

We get stronger

As our days get longer

Silence lets us reflect

Without anything being suspect

We learn as we go

Our faith begins to show

We count the blessings granted

We water the seeds we planted

We all hold hands

Right where love stands

And we embark on another journey

Meant for us only

Silence is golden

To God we are beholden

We hold each other close

Cause love matters most

We follow God’s shining light

Both day and night

We feel a tender touch

That means so much

We offer a smile

That last quite awhile

We give as good as we get

With very little to regret

Our hearts begin to sing

As we see what life can bring

We’re filled to the core

Before God offers us more

We do a victory dance

When we get a chance

In silence

Miracles

Miracles happen every day

It’s God working in every way

They provide a guiding light

We follow day and night

They help remove fear

Proving God almighty is near

They set things in stone

They never leave us alone

They keep us close

To what matters most

They are the purpose we see

Miracles are meant to be

They are a sight to behold

They are a story to be told

They give us room to grow

And share what we know

They take us far

As we reach for a star

They are the dreams

That make us burst at the seams

They never let us forget

They help us let go of regret

They offer something pure

They make us feel secure

They provide solid ground

They are the joy we’ve found

They help us sit still

As we accept God’s will

They make us rejoice

Whenever we hear God’s voice

They are the power

We feel hour after hour

They fill us to the core

Then give us more

They help us stand

As we hold God’s hand

They offer principles

They are miracles

Suddenly

Suddenly we’re on a journey

Meant for two only

We follow the guiding light

That shines day and night

We learn to love

Just like heaven above

Faith removes our fear

Cause we know God is near

We never pretend

We love until the end

Every moment is sweet

Where we both meet

We rest in a place

Filled with mercy and grace

And we’ve found something pure

It makes us feel secure

Suddenly we’ve found a way

To cherish every day

We acknowledge God

With a wink and nod

We share our dreams

Until we burst at the seams

We know who we are

As we reach for a star

Life gets better

As we embrace it to the letter

We just keep going

While knowing

Yes, it’s easy to see

We have peace of mind

Which is hard to find

God planted a seed

To a blessing indeed
