Young woman

You are God’s light

You shine day and night

Your face glows

From everything your heart knows

You provide a love

Sent from heaven above

Your warm embrace

Follows you from place to place

Your wide smile

Stays with others awhile

The world hears your voice

And begins to rejoice

The pride some feel

Is too difficult to conceal

Everything’s set in stone

Your beauty and grace stand alone

You make the world see

What’s truly meant to be

Your tender touch

Means so much

You stand on principles

As God performs miracles

You send others a prayer

Letting them know God is there

You are the journey

Meant for the soul only

God created you

You carries you through

Others look you in the eye

And don’t have to ask why

It’s part of a plan

God reveals when He can

You plant seeds

That lead to good deeds

Right or wrong

You know where you belong

You are a sight to behold

You are a story untold

Your spirit will go far

As you reach for a star

Dreams

Thinking of the moments we shared

And ways we showed we cared

Our purpose was never far away

It rose to the surface every day

We embarked on a journey

Meant for us only

God gave us something pure

Something that made us secure

We stand and hold each other close

Cause love matters most

Every day is better than the day before

It makes us want so much more

We ignore our naysayers

As we say our prayers

Right or wrong

We know where we belong

We’re in a place

Filled with mercy and grace

We can clearly see

What’s meant to be

Every kiss is golden

To God we are beholden

We let go of fear

Cause God almighty is near

We have something real

Too difficult to conceal

We give as good as we get

With very little regret

Faith is the light

We follow day and night

We are at peace

A peace we can’t release

Our smiles tell the story

Of God’s great glory

We look each other in the eyes

And it’s no surprise

As it always seems

We’re living our dreams

The Journey

We woke one day

With God providing a way

We didn’t know what we’d find

But we had peace of mind

The lessons we learned

Were worth the stripes we earned

Everything seemed surreal

Too difficult to conceal

Our hearts began to beat

Where faith and God meet

We went far

Without receiving a scar

We were so proud

We began to shout out loud

We found a place

Filled with mercy and grace

We looked around

Saw the joy we found

And wondered if it would last

Despite our difficult past

We stayed together

Despite some stormy weather

Nothing can compare

To the bond we share

We got what we expected

Nothing was rejected

We counted the blessings

That arrived without stressing

It didn’t take long

To see where we belong

It was meant to be

It’s all we can see

We found a treasure

Beyond all measure

It was something to behold

A story will be told

From beginning to end

And we won’t pretend

We keep moving along

Cause faith keeps us strong

It was meant for us only

The journey

Emotional

Feeling a little tight

Can’t tell day from night

Wondering what’s wrong

And how to remain strong

Trying to see a plan

God will reveal when He can

Trying to go far

Without receiving a scar

Letting go of the past

Hoping every moment will last

Moving from place to place

As I run my race

Knocking on a door

Begging for more

Can’t stop crying

Thought my heart was dying

Trying to let go

Of what I used to know

Trying to find the purpose

Lying at the surface

Wondering what will be

It’s so hard to see

Which way to move

As I have something to prove

Trying to take care

Of everything sitting there

Wondering about my mission

As I develop a vision

Taking a stance

While trying a victory dance

Trying to sit still

As I accept God’s will

Trying not to fear

Cause He’s always near

Trying to find my way

As I get through each day

Looking for something pure

What will make me feel secure

Looking all around

For what they call solid ground

Makes me emotional
