As Days Go By

We cherish every day

We accept God’s way

We hold our faith close

Cause faith matters most

Our naysayers we ignore

As God fills us to the core

We see special things

We know what life brings

Every moment is a pleasure

Beyond all measure

Even when we fall

God answers every call

With every silent prayer

We know God is there

And we don’t wonder why

As days go by

We count blessings granted

We water the seeds we planted

We remember who we are

As we reach for a star

We discover our purpose

Lying at the surface

We remove all doubt

As God works things out

We share a smile

Even laugh a little while

Every step we take

Is a memory we’ll make

We learn to love

Just like heaven above

We learn to rejoice

As we hear God’s voice

We continue to learn

Our stripes we earn

We carry the lessons with us

Cause in God we trust

Life gets better

We embrace it to the letter

We continue to grow

As we share what we know

And we don’t wonder why

As days go by

We get through each day

Come what may

We take what life throws at us

Cause in God we trust

We stumble here and there

But we know what we share

We don’t live in fear

Cause God almighty is near

We know where we stand

As we hold God’s hand

We rest in a quiet place

Filled with mercy and grace

We sit perfectly still

As we accept God’s will

Every new day is a journey

Meant for us only

We see what we’ll gain

Through heartache and pain

God grants blessings galore

Then fills us to the core

We learn to smile

God gives us solid ground

We share the joy we found

We get stronger

Our voices we raise

In a song of praise

Faith takes us far

As we heal every scar

We go through the fire

To obtain what we desire

We emerge completely whole

As God fills every soul

The further we go

We share what we know

We know what’s true

We know what God brought us through

So whenever we get a chance

We do a victory dance

Human

We live every day

Come what may

Sometimes we fall

But God answers our call

We look for peace of mind

Which is hard to find

Then we fill our soul

With what makes life whole

We pray for strength

As we talk with God at length

Sometimes we can’t see

What’s truly meant to be

We learn lessons

That become heartfelt confessions

We live in fear

Not realizing that God is near

Through heartache and pain

We see what we’ll gain

We suddenly find a place

Filled with mercy and grace

Right or wrong

We see where we belong

Life takes us far

We learn to love

Take one look

Our lives are an open book

Life teaches us to share

We know God is there

Sometimes we cry

Then wonder why

But everything’s set in stone

God won’t leave us alone

To God we are beholden

And we are human
