I look at the sky

As I wonder why

I sit all alone

In a thought zone

I reflect on day and night

While watching a shining light

I continue a journey

Meant for me only

I learn as I go

I share what I know

I feel unsure

I feel insecure

I wonder what to do

How I’ll make it through

Then I see God standing there

As I say a silent prayer

I confront naysayers galore

They fill me to the core

I look for a safe space

In a very special place

My journey takes me far

As I reach for a star

My soul feels fear

Before I see God standing near

I see the seeds

That lead to good deeds

I search for solid ground

As I turn my life around

I search for a treasure

To carry beyond all measure

I look for a word

That’s the best I’ve heard

I wonder what I’ll gain

Through the heartache and pain

I try to smile

Even laugh a little while

I eventually see

What’s meant to be

And I see God standing there
