A Quiet Place

There is a quiet place

Filled with mercy and grace

Where love is one of a kind

And God soothes the troubled mind

Where the heart runs free

As we see what’s meant to be

Where we find solid ground

Then share the joy we found

Where God will reveal

What the heart can’t conceal

Where we let go

Of what we used to know

Where we find affection

As well as protection

Where we can hear a word

That’s the best we’ve heard

Where timing is everything

And we see what life can bring

Where faith fills the soul

And God makes life whole

Where we go where God leads

Then perform good deeds

Where we lift every voice

As we begin to rejoice

Where God knows what we can take

With every step we make

Where we look at love

From heaven above

Where we learn to smile

And the smile last awhile

Where we travel far

As we heal every scar

Where we can run our race

At our own pace

Where we see what’s true

Then change our point of view

Where we reach our peak

When we hear God speak

Then sit and rest

After another test

In a quiet place

The Stranger

The stranger approached me

He wasn’t difficult to see

He said we’d start a bond

From here and beyond

He then held me close

Like I mattered most

He began to pray

He said God would lead the way

He made me stronger

And the moment lasted longer

He took me on a journey

Meant for us only

He taught me about love

Sent from heaven above

He taught me about peace

I knew I wouldn’t release

He said listen to God speak

Then I suddenly reached my peak

We held hands

Right where love stands

We began to grow together

He said we’d last forever

The stranger possessed a voice

That made me rejoice

He told me I could grow

By sharing what I know

He said God planted a seed

To a blessing indeed

He said God had a word

That deserves to be heard

He delivered a kiss

I simply couldn’t resist

He offered me something pure

He made me feel secure

He put a move on my heart

From the very start

He gave me a light

To follow day and night

One night of love

Feels like heaven above

One night of peace

We can’t release

One night feeling a touch

That means so much

One night hearing a voice

That makes us rejoice

One night everyone stands

As we hold hands

One night we pray

As God shows us the way

One night we remove fear

Cause God almighty is near

One night we see the light

We follow day and night

One night we learn

One set of stripes we earn

One night built to last

As we learn from the past

One night set in stone

As we see we’re not alone

One night with a new chapter

Filled with joy and laughter

One night on solid ground

Before God offers us more

What’s truly meant to be

After yet another test

One night we count blessings

Without a lot of stressing

One night filled with affection

As well as protection
