I saw a guiding light

The light held me close

How God paved the way

How I could gain strength

By talking with God at length

The naysayers I can ignore

What will fill me to the core

How to find a place

Filled with mercy and grace

The purpose I can fulfill

How to accept God’s will

One lonely night

I followed a guiding light

It set me free

It showed what’s meant to be

It taught me lessons

That are now confessions

It showed what I’ll gain

Through heartache and pain

It took me far

As I reached for a star

It made me smile

The smile lasted awhile

It showed a new chapter

Filled with joy and laughter

It granted blessings for sure

It made me feel secure

It showed me who to please

As I fell to my knees

It led me down the right road

God carried the heavy load

It revealed something real

Something too difficult to conceal

And I saw God in plain sight
