Yesterday

Everything seemed far away

I couldn’t hide my smile

I even laughed a little while

I felt God’s unconditional love

As it came from heaven above

I ran my race

At my own pace

God kept me close

Cause bonding matters most

I found my purpose

Lying at the surface

I ignored my naysayers

As I said my prayers

And I left the pass behind

As I cleared my mind

Yesterday

I knew where I wanted to be

What’s real was easy to see

I continued the journey

Meant for me only

I learned all I could

More than I thought I would

I reached my peak

As I heard God speak

I saw what I’d gain

Through heartache and pain

I tasted something sweet

Where God and I meet

I heard a word

That’s the best I’ve heard

I felt God’s affection

As well as protection

I found a place

Filled with mercy and grace

I did a victory dance

During my second chance

Things were set in stone

I knew I wasn’t alone

I learned to sit still

As I accepted God’s will

I found something pure

I felt safe and secure

I truly found my way
