The Stranger

I met a stranger one day

Wouldn’t have it any other way

He held my hand

He taught me to stand

He spoke intently

Of wonderful things

All the joy life brings

He said God has a plan

He’ll reveal when He can

That he could see

Our encounter was meant to be

He held me close

Like I mattered most

As he filled me to the core

Before offering me more

The stranger spoke of a place

Filled with mercy and grace

He said God was in the journey

Meant for me only

He gave me strength

As we talked at length

He showed me the way

To a brighter day

He became a light

I can follow day and night

And I continue to learn

Many stripes I earn

From the stranger
