The eyes are full of tears

As the soul fills with fears

We face every day

Pondering how we’ll find our way

We wonder what we’ll find

As we long for peace of mind

We sit and look ahead

Hearts filled with dread

We pray for strength

As we talk to God at length

We wonder who we are

How we’ll heal every scar

Then search for peace

Our hearts won’t release

Before we let go

Of what we used to know

The eyes are full of tears

As we see what’s at stake

We wonder how much we can take

We search day and night

For a guiding light

We long for something pure

To feel safe and secure

We yearn to be free

See what’s truly meant to be

We search for a place

Filled with mercy and grace

We try to be strong

We wonder where we belong

We long for affection

As well as protection

We try to turn around

Then look at what we’ve found

Then give a little stare

As we learn how to care

Then things change

Nothing seems strange

As God removes our fears

And wipes the eyes full of tears
