God’s Timing

We sit alone

Wondering what’s set in stone

We wonder what to say

As we begin to pray

We try to fill our days

By changing our ways

Our minds long to be free

While searching for what’s meant to be

We try to plant seeds

That lead to good deeds

We look all around

For solid ground

Before our purpose appears

And God removes our fears

We reach our peak

When we hear God speak

Then keep climbing

With God’s timing

We lie awake

Wondering how much we can take

We long to fill the soul

With what makes it whole

We turn and look ahead

While full of dread

We search for a path

Without unleashing God’s wrath

We try to settle down

Try to remove our frown

We try to ignore our naysayers

As we say our prayers

We try to sit still

While accepting God’s will

We learn as we go

We share what we know

Another chapter begins

Faith finally wins

We learn to stand

While holding God’s hand

And keep climbing

With God’s timing

Blessings God will grant

Things set in stone

Why God won’t leave us alone

Things that eventually grow

Things that reveal what we know

What fills every day

How God shows us the way

The lessons we learn

The stripes we earn

How we turn ourselves around

Where we find solid ground

God’s unchanging hand

Where we learn to stand

The encouraging word

We’ve always heard

Seeds

Something we hold close

Cause they matter most

Where we begin again

How we learn to win

Our next chapter

Our joy and laughter

What fills the soul

What makes life whole

The God given purpose

That rises to the surface

The result of prayer

Why God is always there

The journey we take

The memories we make

The warm smile

That last a little while

Looking straight ahead

Without an ounce of dread

Lifting one voice

As we begin to rejoice

The unconditional love

That comes from heaven above

Doing good deeds

All come from seeds

The Spirit

The spirit is true love

Coming from heaven above

All our days

God’s loving ways

How He removes fear

How He dries every tear

The strength we gain

Through heartache and pain

One unmistakable voice

The way we rejoice

The ground under our feet

Where faith and God meet

Our beautiful victory dance

After getting a second chance

What’s set in stone

Why God won’t leave us alone

The spirit is real

Too difficult to conceal

It travels everywhere

It shows God is there

It fills the soul

It makes life whole

It holds us close

Cause bonding matters most

It leads to a place

Filled with mercy and grace

It provides a path

Without unleashing God’s wrath

It carries us through

It shows what God can do

It removes all doubt

While God works things out

It makes us smile

Even laugh a little while

It gives us time

To remember our prime

It’s part of a plan

God will reveal when He can

We can’t live without it

We stare at the looking glass

We pray time will pass

We see all our days

God’s loving ways

The moments we’ve shared

The dreams we’ve dared

The lessons we’ve learned

The stripes we’ve earned

The beautiful place

Where we run our race

God’s unconditional love

Sweet heaven above

The fear we left behind

Our wonderful peace of mind

Which way our hearts go

The feelings we always show

We stare at the looking glass

We don’t pretend

Self-reflection doesn’t end

We see all the storms

All the broken norms

How we’ve survived

All the ways we’ve thrived

Our very real stance

During our victory dance

We see our purpose

Rise to the surface

We see who we are

How we reached for a star

All the treasures we hold

The story we’ve told

The things we crave

The love God gave

What we know is real

What’s too difficult to conceal

The way we stand

As we hold God’s hand

Our brand new stage
