During the walk home

I say a prayer

Thanking God for being there

I embrace the day

I accept God’s way

I look at lessons learned

And all the stripes I’ve earned

I feel the unconditional love

Coming from heaven above

I rest in a place

Filled with mercy and grace

Faith removes my fears

My purpose suddenly appears

I gain a renewed strength

By talking with God at length

I rely on His word

Cause it’s all I’ve heard

I get filled to the core

As I count blessings galore

And I turn myself around

Before landing on solid ground

During the walk home

I open my eyes

To a wonderful surprise

I think of the dreams

That make me burst at the seams

I see what’s real

What makes me heal

I have His protection

He gives me direction

Faith removes all doubt

That things will work out

God fills my soul

With what makes me whole

I find perfect peace

My heart won’t release

I do a victory dance

As I embrace my second chance

I reach my peak

As I hear God speak

I see another journey

Meant for me only

And my soul begins roam
