I awake with a smile

The smile last quite a while

I think of every blessing granted

All the seeds I’ve planted

My thoughts take me to a place

Filled with nothing but grace

I embrace my second chance

By doing a victory dance

It carries me through the day

As I think of God’s loving way

I see the hand of God well

It’s where peace and love dwell

I feel something pure

I feel safe and secure

My soul runs free

I see it’s meant to be

I look ahead

Without an ounce of dread

Cause faith keeps me strong

Whether I’m right or wrong

Life brings me joy

I go through the fire

To obtain what I desire

God is the guide

Who stays by my side

He gives me protection

He points me in the right direction

My naysayers I ignore

Cause I’m filled to the core

I get stronger

As my days get longer

I’ve let go of fear

Cause God almighty is near

Oh yes, it’s true

I see what God can do

Faith removed all doubt

That He can work things out

I hold my head high

No need to ask why

Life brings me joy
