Awaking feeling lost

Not knowing the cost

Trying to find a way

To survive another day

Saying a silent prayer

Knowing God is there

We wonder what we’ll find

While searching for peace of mind

Yet we keep going

All while knowing

We’ll find a home

Where our souls can roam

We learn what to ignore

While being filled to the core

We search every space

Until we find mercy and grace

We turn ourselves around

Then find solid ground

We change our view

When we see what God can do

We search for affection

As well as protection

Until God appears

Then removes all our fears

Faith takes us far

As it removes every scar

We see the blessings granted

We water the seeds we’ve planted

We learn to give as we get

With very little regret

We hang on God’s word

One we’ve always heard

We fall and rise again

But faith helps us win

We finally follow the light

That shines day and night

Our experiences are lessons

That become heartfelt confessions

We learn to smile

Even laugh a little while

God reveals our purpose

Before it rises to the surface

We look straight ahead

While filled with dread

Until God lifts us up

Fills our cup

Then helps us stand

As we hold His hand

The journey continues

With a lot of good news

We continue to be great

With the weight
