Yesterday

We embraced a new day

As we accepted God’s way

We counted the blessings He granted

Then watered the seeds we planted

We shared the love

Coming from heaven above

We fulfilled the purpose

We saw lying at the surface

We reflected on the journey

Meant for us only

We kept our faith close

Cause faith matters most

We found something pure

We felt safe and secure

We looked into our hearts

To see where love starts

We found a place

Filled with mercy and grace

We saw what God can do

How we made it through

We learned to see

What’s truly meant to be

Yesterday

We shared the dreams

That make us burst at the seams

We learned what’s real

Too difficult to conceal

We did a victory dance

After our second chance

We followed the light

That shines day and night

We passed another test

Like all the rest

We shared a smile

That lasted awhile

We felt God’s power

Hour after hour

We saw beautiful things

All the joy life brings

We stayed on course

Without an ounce of remorse

We made crystal clear

What we hold dear

And learned love is here to stay

Awaking to a new day

Sending some praise God’s way

Feeling nothing but love

Coming from heaven above

Preparing for a journey

Meant for me only

Resting in a home

Where my soul can roam

Planting the seeds

That lead to good deeds

Hanging on God’s word

Cause it’s all I’ve heard

Building new dreams

That make me burst at the seams

Looking straight ahead

Without an ounce of dread

Acknowledging an answered prayer

Shows God is there

Sharing my smile

Laughing a little while

Seeing what’s in stone

Realizing I’m not alone

Learning my name

Letting go of my shame

Seeing the place

Filled with mercy and grace

Watching God perform miracles

As I stand on principles

Gaining a renewed strength

As I talk with Him at length

Touching a hand

Right where I stand

Feeling God’s affection

Having His protection

Taking faith everywhere I go

Sharing what I know

Getting much stronger

As the day gets longer

Enjoying a moment of pleasure

Beyond all measure

Sharing lessons learned

Seeing the stripes I’ve earned

Learning what to ignore

As God fills me to the core

Having no doubt

That God will work things out

Preparing to do it all again

Knowing faith will help me win

Always keep your head up because if it’s down you won’t be able to see the blessings that have been placed in your life.

Keep going because that person in heaven doesn’t want to see you quit.
