Yesterday

Another blessing was granted

More seeds were planted

We had another talk with God

As we offered a wink and nod

We got much stronger

As the day got longer

We found a place

Filled with mercy and grace

We stood firm and tall

Knowing faith meant all

We changed our view

After seeing what God can do

We built new dreams

That made us burst at the seams

We lifted one voice

As we began to rejoice

We looked straight ahead

Without an ounce of dread

Knowing our purpose

Would rise to the surface

And we held each other close

Cause bonding matters most

Yesterday

We saw what’s by design

We know everything is fine

We learned to smile

Even laugh a little while

We learned how to live

We learned how to give

Faith turned us around

Put us on solid ground

We hung on an encouraging word

That we’ve always heard

We learned the lessons

That have become heartfelt confessions

We passed another test

Just like all the rest

God made us see

What’s truly meant to be

We learned our name

We let go of our shame

God lifted us up

Filled our cup

And sent us on our way

As we prepared for another day
