I had a talk with God

The moment was real

Too difficult to conceal

He revealed my purpose

Before it rose to the surface

He healed my soul

He made me whole

He set things in stone

He never left me alone

He gave me strength

As we talked at length

He put me on the right path

Without unleashing His wrath

He told me what to ignore

As He filled me to the core

He taught me to stand

As I held His hand

He gave me a home

Where my soul can roam

He gave me a treasure

To cherish beyond measure

He accompanied me on a journey

Meant for me only

I had a talk with God

He offered His affection

As well as protection

He taught me to smile

Even laugh a little while

He lifted me up

He filled my cup

He made me see

What’s truly meant to be

He took me far

He healed every scar

He gave me a name

He removed my shame

He gave me peace

My heart simply can’t release

He turned me around

Put me on solid ground

He showed what He can do

He carried me through

I gave a wink and nod

As I had a talk with God
