We’ve had some difficult days

In a million ways

We’ve been scorned

Had our hearts torn

We’ve been shamed

We’ve been defamed

We’ve gotten lost

Not knowing the cost

We’ve looked for a place

To run our race

We’ve grappled with doubt

Until God worked things out

We’ve longed for a word

That deserves to be heard

Until God set spoke to us

In Him we trust

We’ve searched for love

In heaven above

Until God lifted us up

Then filled our cup

We’ve gotten turned around

Until God put us on solid ground

We’ve searched for something pure

Until faith made us feel secure

We opened our eyes

To a wonderful surprise

And now we rise

We’ve traveled far

While healing every scar

We’ve searched for purpose

Until it rose to the surface

We’ve learned lessons

That have become heartfelt confessions

We’ve wondered how to live

Just how much to give

Until God revealed His plan

As only He can

We’ve learned to smile

Even laugh a little while

We’ve wondered what’s by design

Until faith showed everything is fine

We’ve searched every soul

For what will make us whole

Until God gave us more

Than we could ask for

We opened our eyes

To a wonderful surprise

And now we rise
