Sitting in silence

As various thoughts come to mind

Just wondering what I’ll find

Hearing nothing but God’s voice

Before I begin to rejoice

Getting through each day

Knowing God will make a way

Longing for someone to hold

Hoping my story will be told

Praying for strength

As I talk with God at length

Continuing to travel

Hoping my soul doesn’t unravel

Learning to stand

As I take God’s hand

Waiting for a kiss

Too hard to resist

Longing for a touch

That means so much

Wondering if love is the purpose

I see lying at the surface

Looking into my heart

To see where I should start

Faith shows what’s for me only

So, I’ll never be lonely

Opening my eyes

To a wonderful surprise

Falling then rising again

Knowing with faith I’ll win

Grappling with fear

Until I see God standing near

Looking straight ahead

While filled with dread

Until God sets my path

Without unleashing His wrath

Getting turned around

Until I find solid ground

Following the light

That shines day and night

Longing to heal my soul

Wanting to be made whole

Learning to smile

Even laugh a little while

Finding a home

Where my soul can roam

Finding a heart that beats with mine

Seeing everything is fine

Seeing what’s for me only

Knowing I’ll never be lonely
