I’ve traveled every day

With God leading the way

I’ve been shamed

I’ve been defamed

I’ve been scorned

Had my heart torn

I’ve gotten turned around

Until I found solid ground

I’ve been unsure

Until faith made me feel secure

I’ve gained strength

After talking with God at length

I’ve fallen and risen again

Knowing with faith I’d win

I’ve searched my soul

Until God made me whole

I’ve carried life lessons

That became heartfelt confessions

I’ve looked straight ahead

While filled with dread

Until God set my path

Without unleashing His wrath

I’ve grappled with doubt

Until God worked things out

I’m a survivor

I’ve been down

Had my smile turned into a frown

Until God set things in stone

Reminded me I’m not alone

I’ve wondered what’s for me

Until I saw what’s meant to be

I’ve been in the cold

Until I found something to hold

I’ve ran my race

In a safe and secure place

I’ve faced my naysayers

While saying my prayers

I’ve held my faith close

Cause faith matters most

I’ve wondered what’s by design

Until I saw everything was fine

I’ve gotten a name

I’ve let go of my shame

I’ve learned what to ignore

As God filled me to the core
