Yesterday

God showed us the way

He ordained a journey

Meant just for us only

Faith turned us around

We marveled at what we found

Our purpose was clear

So, we moved without fear

We built new dreams

Until we burst at the seams

We counted seeds of love

As they fell from heaven above

We held each other close

Cause love mattered most

God gave us strength

As we talked with Him at length

We fulfilled the purpose

We saw lying at the surface

We hung on God’s word

Cause that’s all we heard

We struck a few poses

When we stopped to smell the roses

And faith lifted us up

Then filled our cup

Yesterday

We stayed in prayer

Cause we knew God was there

We counted blessings galore

As God filled us to the core

We learned to stand

As we held God’s hand

We learned to let go

Of what we used to know

We remembered who we are

As we reached for a star

We did a dance

To celebrate our second chance

The moment was pure

It made us feel secure

We lifted one voice

As we began to rejoice

We prepared for another mission

With crystal clear vision

In our own way

The day we met

Is one I won’t forget

You held me close

Like bonding mattered most

We planted seeds of love

While watching heaven above

We said a prayer

Thanking God for being there

We did a love dance

To celebrate our romance

We learned life lessons

That are now heartfelt confessions

God guided our hearts

To where love starts

We shared a smile

The smile lasted a while

We found solid ground

We shared the joy we found

We shared a kiss

We simply couldn’t resist

Every tender touch

Meant so much

And we started life anew

It felt like morning dew

I remember you

When we met

We moved without fear

Cause God almighty was near

We learned what to ignore

As God filled us to the core

We enjoyed moments of pleasure

Beyond all measure

Faith made us see

That we were meant to be

Our bond got stronger

As our journey got longer

We began to sing

We saw what life can bring

We suddenly became one

We saw what God had done

God set our path

Without unleashing His wrath

Our bond can now stand

As we walk across the land
