Lovely Day

I rise with the sun on my face

I smile cause I’m in a good place

I say a silent prayer

Thanking God for being there

I prepare for the journey

Meant for me only

I build new dreams

Until I burst at the seams

God gives me strength

As we talk at length

I learn what to ignore

As God fills me to the core

The moment is pure

It makes me feel secure

I stand on solid ground

I share the joy I found

I hang on God’s word

Cause it’s all I’ve heard

My soul runs free

I see what’s meant to be

I start my mission

With crystal clear vision

I look straight ahead

Without an ounce of dread

I accept God’s way

Cause it’s a lovely day

I look at what I find

As I relish peace of mind

I see new life lessons

That become heartfelt confessions

I continue to grow

More than anyone would know

I strike a few poses

As I stop to smell the roses

I plant the seeds

That lead to good deeds
