Hard Work

We get through every day

With God leading the way

We build as we go

Cause that helps us grow

We fall then rise again

But faith helps us win

Naysayers we ignore

As God fills us to the core

We gain a renewed strength

As we talk with God at length

God reveals our purpose

Before it rises to the surface

We stay on course

With very little remorse

We see what’s in stone

Why God never leaves us alone

We use our hands

We see where love stands

God carries us through

He sees what we do

Our work is real

Too difficult to conceal

From beginning to end

We never pretend

We take one step at a time

While still in our prime

We look straight ahead

Without an ounce of dread

Cause all we see

Is what’s meant to be

We build our blocks

We answer when God knocks

We remove all doubt

That God will work things out

We know what we hold

Our story will be told

We have a foundation

We move without hesitation

God removes every cloud

The moment makes us proud

We have a perfect peace

Our hearts won’t release

We fill every chapter

With joy and laughter

And hard work

Where Our Love Lies

We share our days

In a lot of days

In a home

Where our souls roam

God planted the seed

To a blessing indeed

We hold each other close

Cause bonding matters most

Our four walls

Show faith never stalls

Our daily journey

Is meant for us only

The moments we share

The dreams we dare

All live in a place

Filled with mercy and grace

We hang on God’s word

Cause that’s all we’ve heard

Every tender kiss

Is hard to resist

Every tender touch

Means so much

Both day and night

We share a love light

We keep going

All while knowing

God is with us

In Him we trust

We share a smile

We laugh a little while

We know what to ignore

As God fills us to the core

We have something pure

We feel safe and secure

We have a name

We feel no shame

We’ve learned to stand

As we hold God’s hand

We have God’s affection

We have His protection

Every day is brand new

We see what God can do

Our bond gets stronger

As our days get longer

It’s by design

So, everything is fine

We open our eyes

And see where our love lies
